Podio & Relief1

October 13th, 2011

Keeping everyone in our organization on the same page is a challenge, especially when dealing with international time zone differences. Thankfully, Podio makes this and many other tasks easy.

With Podio, managing projects, sharing information and collaborating are a piece of cake. Need to manage your on-boarding process? There is an app for that. Can’t find one? Build your own, no programming experience required. It’s really that simple.

Any large project has many different domains of knowledge and experience. With Podio, we are able to manage each group, provide them with the tools they need to get their tasks done, and connect them with their teammates. Podio provides all this functionality in a clean, easy to use interface.

In addition, the customer service is noteworthy. Podio has gone out of their way to ensure that we were settled in and using their service to its fullest. That type of treatment goes a long way.

Thanks much Podio for being one of our sponsors.

LucidChart & Relief1

October 10th, 2011

Bringing great ideas to reality requires a lot of thought, brainstorming, collaboration, planning and execution. LucidCharts services provide us with the tools we need to take our ideas through their paces, vetting them before hitting the planning and development stages.

I have been a fan of mind mapping as a tool for working through an idea and brainstorming for quite some time. With the aid of mind mapping, you can organize your ideas quickly and communicate them with ease. LucidChart allows us to make mind maps and share them effortlessly with the team.

Collaboration is crucial when coming up with a good design. It becomes a challenge when everyone is scattered all over the world. Working on storyboards, wireframes and prototypes is a snap. With LucidChart, we can see changes made in real-time to documents, leave notes and chat.

Thanks much LucidChart, for sponsoring our project.

Let’s Do This

October 7th, 2011

On May 22, 2011, one of the most destructive tornados in history struck my hometown of Joplin, Missouri. The devastation it wrought is to this day unimaginable to me. Loved ones were torn away from their families unable to say, ‘I love you,’ one last time. Places we remember vividly are now gone, only to live on in memory.

We cannot prevent these violent acts from happening in the future, but we can prepare and respond to them in a better fashion. We need your help, because our mission is worthy and our intentions are pure. The reward we receive is the knowledge that a mother will reconnect with a missing daughter, a father will find shelter for his family, and a son will find food and clothing.

This is not an easy task. There are many challenges and hurdles along the way. We will meet these challenges and overcome them, because there are people in trouble and we want to help. We are an international team; we are motivated and we are committed to make a difference in the world.

Will you join us?

Sincerely,
Co-Founder, Carter Leffen
